The future needs sovereignty: Claudia Alsdorf at Käpsele 2026

AI, the cloud, digital platforms – most companies use them on a daily basis. But there’s one question many only ask when the situation has already become critical: who actually controls the infrastructure on which our data is stored?

At first glance, ‘digital sovereignty’ sounds like a political buzzword. Behind it, however, lies a very specific business question: Who has control over data, access and digital value creation – and how dependent do we want to be on individual global providers?

Claudia Alsdorf from Schwarz Digits is deeply engaged with precisely this challenge and will be presenting a clear perspective at Käpsele 2026: digital infrastructure has long since become part of our critical infrastructure. Those who fail to actively secure it are not only putting corporate data at risk – but also risking that public administration, the economy and societal processes come under pressure.

At the same time, she sees this as a genuine opportunity: Europe can build its own digital ecosystems in which innovation, AI and data usage are possible – without relinquishing control over its own data.

We will be discussing how this can be achieved and what role businesses play in this at the Käpsele Innovation Festival on 16 July 2026 at the SICK Arena in Freiburg.

After all, the future is not shaped by technology alone – but by how we use it wisely.
