Longevity – an immortal business?
Germany is ageing. Skilled workers are becoming scarcer, and the strain on health and social care systems is increasing. And at the same time, something remarkable is happening: we are understanding more quickly than ever how diseases can be detected earlier, how health can be maintained for longer, and how we can achieve more healthy years of life.
The keyword: longevity. A market worth billions is currently emerging around this topic – ranging from diagnostics and prevention through digital health solutions to new business models centred on healthy ageing.
Yet, caught between science, wishful thinking and economic considerations, pressing questions arise: Which innovations actually have the potential to reduce healthcare costs? Where are new markets and areas of growth emerging? What role do AI, biotechnology and personalised medicine play? And how do we distinguish scientifically sound progress from well-marketed promises?
At Käpsele 2026, we will get to the bottom of these questions together with experts from the worlds of science, medicine and business:
- Dr Anne Latz – doctor and co-founder of Hello Inside
- Fabian Sperling – Co-founder of Hiber and entrepreneur in the digital health sector
- Niko Hems – longevity expert and Head of Growth and Sales at YEARS
- Fabiola Hartung-Linz (moderator) – Business Development Manager for MedTech at M&M Software GmbH
Longevity: Is it just a passing fad that will soon fade away? Or is it one of the most exciting innovation markets of the coming decades? We’ll find out.
